Home Deep Cleaning Checklist: What a Proper Deep Clean Covers
A deep clean goes beyond daily sweeping and mopping: it removes the grease, limescale and dust that build up where you do not usually reach. Use this checklist to see whether a quote covers what you expect.
Kitchen
- Degreasing the hob, chimney exterior and backsplash.
- Inside and outside of cabinets, shelves and drawers.
- Sink, taps and the area behind and under them.
- Tiles and grout, and the exhaust fan.
Bathrooms
- Descaling taps, showers and glass of hard-water stains.
- Scrubbing tiles, grout and floors; disinfecting the toilet and basin.
- Cleaning mirrors, exhaust fans and fittings.
Living areas and bedrooms
- Dusting ceilings, corners, fans, lights and the tops of wardrobes.
- Wiping doors, switches, windows, grills and sills.
- Vacuuming and scrubbing floors, including edges and under movable furniture where possible.
- Balcony or utility area cleaning.
Usually extra
- Sofa, mattress and carpet shampooing (a separate upholstery service).
- Pest control.
- Post-construction or painting cleanup, which takes longer and is quoted separately.
- Interior of fridge, oven or washing machine, unless the quote lists them.
How to prepare
- Put away valuables, cash and important papers.
- Clear surfaces and small items so the team can clean under them.
- Make sure water and electricity are available during the visit.
- Tell the team about delicate surfaces such as marble, wood or antique items.
Questions to ask before you book
- Which machines and chemicals are used, and who supplies them?
- How many people come and how long does the job take?
- Is the price based on your home's size (for example 1, 2 or 3 BHK)?
- What happens if something was missed? Look for a rework promise in writing.
Many families schedule a deep clean once or twice a year, often before a festival or after moving in. Our house cleaning service starts at a fixed price by home size in Guntur and Vijayawada; the details are on the cleaning page.
